SUBJECT: Back from R@P!! Thanks to all!

Submitted by spinnerB8 from VIRGINIA on

copied from my post on the NF board:

I made it home around 6:00 last nite and barely had the energy to eat the great meal Sue cooked for me. I think I was asleep before my head hit the pillow at 7:30.

I do want to thank all the Rally @ Potomac Sponsors for all their support and especially the R@P committee. Great job, all.

It was a fun event and I got to meet and fish with some really great folks and learned an awful lot about tidal water fishing.

Again, I have to appologize to Sparkplug for ruining his afternoon fishing on Saturday. I must have filtered the entire contents of the Potomac River thru one of my live wells. Then left a couple of hundred gallons in the parking lot.

That old Stratos might make a pretty good swimming pool in my new yard. It holds water all the way from the deep end to the shallow end!!! LOL.

Anyway, thanks again to everyone and especially Karl, Joe and Grant for their wonderful companionship, patience and tutelage on the river and how to fish it.

Congratulations to all the winners and a special thanks to Grant for puting me on the fish and giving me the confidence to fish the ugly, heavy stuff. If the invitation is still open, I may take you up on it soon! You are truely a great fishing partner.

p.s Thanks to the fine folks at Dumfries Marine, Andrew in particular, for isolating the problem with my boat. And to Sherman for offering me the use of a spankin' new Bumble Bee. Altought I didn't use it, I did fish with Grant in his and it's one great fishing machine!!

  1. Karl L from DELAWARE says How 'bout those Dumfries Marine guys?
copied from my reply to SpinnerB8's post on the NF board:

They (Dumfries) can't do it for the money. What did they gain by supporting the Rally the way they did? They were there with 2 to 4 boats parked at the ramp for us to look at and 'ooh and ahh' over, they offered free repair/diagnostic services to all the participants, and they contributed to the giveaways at the banquet. All this, and there were less than 50 participants at the Rally, half of which already own boats, and a big bunch of the non-boat owners don't live in the area. I guess they do it because they like the whole Rally concept, or maybe because Charlie is relentless! Whatever the reason, they sure took care of us (especially SpinnerB8 and JD).

One CLASS ACT ... Thank You. Wish you guys were closer to Pa for you would get all my business, whether I was flying around in a Bumble Bee or not. Thanks for making us all feel like we were Pros !!!

  3. J D from SOUTH CAROLINA says My Hats off to Dumfries
Those guys were fantastic!! How many places would send their best mechanic to ramp to fix your boat while you go out fishing with someone else. He11, they had the part Fed-Exed overnight to be sure I was back on the water ASAP!! Thanks again Anthony!! I also need to thank Max for fixing my trolling motor at 0600 on Fathers Day. thanks to these guys I came home with my boat in better condition than when I arrived!!
