Got home nice and late Sunday night with my checked luggage deciding to tour Charlotte instead of coming home to Hartford. Caught up with schoolwork and now can take a breath and thank the Rally Committee, sponsors,my Texican buddy Charles, and rally guides Steve Torok and John Byrd for a great time. There was a lot of pressure on me this year, being the sole member of the Mason-Dixonians and thanks to my boater partners, I was able to represent my region of the country pretty well. I learned an awful lot about fishing a spoon and thanks to John, I caught a really nice fish waiting for me in the weeds on my spinny pole. I am still a little sore from dropping my rod and getting the net for all of John's fish. I think a fireman's pole installed on the back of his boat would make it easier on my legs to get to the front deck with the net faster. That man can sure catch fish. It was great seeing old friends and making new ones. Thank you Brian for making me that bluegill jig. I also want to thank Larry Bailey for picking me up at the airport and shipping my rods back home. Actually, when I think about it, I should rent a locker in Bama and just keep those rods and reels there as New England fishing does not require 30lb braided line. I also learned an awful lot about stills and making "shine" thanks to Fishman and Billy. Brian explained to me how the patch of the U.S. flag on a shirt has to be positioned so the stars are in front when facing the "wind". I alsways wondered why the flag sometimes looked like it was sewn on backwards. They don't teach that in math classes.
Again, thanks everyone for a great time. I hope to see you all next year.
CT Yankee, aka Ron
