Submitted by Frank (24.225.85.92) from NEW YORK on 9/6/04 8:49:00 AM I will be trying my luck on the almighty James River next weekend, and would like to know if anyone has had much luck lately. If so, what is the bait of choice? Last time I went (over a year ago) we caught and released a 42 pounder. That was on a whole filet of threadfin shad in a deep hole near Dutch Gap. I figure that fishing the holes is the overall best method, but particular baits can differ in preference throughout the year. Any advice would be appreciated.
