Back home from the trip to Wheeler and Wilson in Alabama. Had a good trip except way too much wind and rain, but it didn't bother the fish much. Started about noon on Thursday and fished through Saturday about 1pm. Did some tailrace fishing, and regular fishing on both Wheeler and Wilson and caught good numbers and size of both LM and SM fishing cranks, spinnerbaits, and jigheads. The tailrace fishing was a little slower than years past but the quality was good. What a great lake Wheeler is for 2 average guys, me and my son to be able to fish once a year and still be able to catch fish the way we did.. We mainly fished the Elk River on Wheeler. It slowed Saturday after the all night rain as the water muddied pretty good, so we ran on out to the main lake and caught 'em in small pockets off the main lake. Thank you Alabama. The catfish and steak restaurant were awesome as well. Be back next year. Ron
