Subject: James River, Virginia

Submitted by . (ip 71.246.156.87)

Date Fished: 10/30/2009
Water Temperature: 60
Water Clarity: 2-3 feet

Put in at Osborne at near low tide but the water level appeared to be closer to high tide. The wing dams were all under water. Fished the dams, docks, structure on the main river and finally the Barge Pit (temp 68). Tried cranks, spinners, plastics, and chatterbaits with no success anywhere. Finally got one that was almost a keeper on a plastic worm. When I got back to Osborne it was an hour before high tide but the water was up over the top of the docks. Had to wade through several inches of water to get to the parking lot. I'd have to attribute the bass lack of interest to the unusual high water. I'm going to try again this week but with all the rain we're having I'd expect the water to be high again.

Unusually high water From: Will C. #10336, Virginia
The unusually high water is not only due to the rain, but also the fact that the full moon is on Nov.2. This tends to cause very high tides and very "high" low tides.

Hope this helps, Will
