Subject: Lake Lanier, Georgia

Submitted by Gerard (ip 24.98.186.175)

Date Fished: 11/5/2009
Water Temperature: 61
Water Clarity: 4 feet or greater

I put in around 11:00 am at the Charleston launch and due to my motor on the fritz, I was forced to stay within range of the park. Fished for Stripers and Spots by free lining and down lining Bluebacks and medium shiners, in 10'-30' of water, with little action until 5:00. Then it was like someone turned the lights on. No Stripers, but I pulled in three nice Spots and (unfortunately) a large Catfish, all on free line at 20'. I had what felt like a striper on, but I let it go deep and it got caught up on on the bottom and broke off. I was marking fish at 40' -50'.

I went out for Stripers, but I'll take those spots anytime. Windy day, very sunny and a great sunset.
