8 of us fished at Bill Chapman Sr's lodge on Nov 1st through 5th. 3 Days of fishing. Weater was in the low 70's in am, got hot in afternoon for a couple of hours, then nice the rest of the day. Sunny 2 days, partly cloudy the last day.

Fishing was good, lots of big, quality fish. Averaged about 40 to 60 per day per boat, but some of the guys going for numbers got about a 100, but the size was smaller. We threw it all, here are the only baits that worked. In am and late in afternoon, good topwater bite. They hit popr's, and zara spooks. Could not get a strike on a buzz bait.

The rest of the day only needed 3 baits. 6 or 8" watermelon colored lizzard, texas rigged. We used Zoom, watermelon/chartreuse tail but any green color worked. Fished flats at 8-15' deep, some cliffs, good action most of the day. For the bigger fish, 5" Storm swim baits were the best, either the Shad or lighter color worked the best, fished them in flats and stickups. And then lastly for numbers, was the 5" Yammamoto senko, fished wacky without any weight or just a 1/16th oz. Best color was the cream, and any waternelon variety. Fished these right up shore, steep cliffs, hit was in the first 2-4'. Last day one group caught over 95 this way, biggest was a 7 lber.

Got lot's of good quality bass. 18 between 6-7 lbs, 15 between 7-8 lbs, 11 between 8-9 lbs, 3 between 9-10 lbs, and 1 that was 10.6 lbs. You can reach Chapman at 011-52-311-211-5128 for reservations at his office in Tepic or the number for the lodge is 011-52-696-964-3146.

Food and accomodations were great, our 3rd or fourth trip here, and Bill Sr. is a great host. E mail or call at 602-956-8254 if you have any questions.
