Subject: Lake Lanier, Georgia

Submitted by RyanC/LanierSpots

Date Fished: 3/17/2012

Water Temperature: 65
Water Clarity: 4 feet or greater

The water temperatures came up big time this week as you may already know. The water temps on the lower end this week come up to 65 by yesterday and I look for it to continue to rise over the next few days. The night time temperatures are not dropping so the water is not cooling at night. That with the high temp during the day is really rising the surface temps. But don't forget that it takes a little more than an few days to bring up the lower depts... The water is very clear on the lower and and slightly stained up in the Little Hall and Gainesville area. There are already dogwoods blooming and the magic yellow dust is everywhere already. Spring is certainly in full bloom...

Fishing this week was good. I will not call it great but it was good. The first few days of the week, the fishing was not as good as later in the week. We were catching fish but the bite was slower in the morning and better in the afternoons for us. It could be due to the 1/4 waning moon or just that we were not on the right bite. Either way, we had a much better bite in the mid day or late day vs the mornings...

I had a good week on big fish as I got the giant spot above (the one with the pretty shirt on) this week... I also had a client who caught a very big spot (camera shy) on one of my new drop shot worms. Both the big spots came on the cinnamon pepper hand pour. Both were caught in 28 feet of water on two different places. Weird...

I also had a good week fishing Jigs, jerk baits and of course worms rigged on 3/16 ounce wide gap SpotSticker jighead... I have been using both the Zoom finesse worm in dark green colors and the SpotSticker hand pour on my jighead this week. Shallow docks and steep rock banks have been the ticket for the jighead for me...

I am booking at a pretty good clip right now. I have listed my open days below. I don't have anything left in March and April is booking fast, Give me a call and lets get out on the water.

Good luck to everyone and have a great weekend

April days available - 10,16,17,18,24,26,30
