Headed up to the yearly fly in fishing trip to Air Melancon in Ste. Ann du Lac in Quebec. Ive been there a bunch of times before but I havent gone in 4 or 5 years. It was my dads 12th trip. Went with my dad and some cousins. There was 6 of us. Arrived Saturday afternoon July 24. Flew in to Natakim Lake for Pike and Walleye. Nice addition this year. They added flush toilets. What a relief. That outhouse was deadly. Good trip as always. Great weather also. Pretty cool Saturday and Sunday then by Wednesday and on it was hot. We fished Saturday afternoon till Thursday evening and left Friday morning. We got well over 200 fish between the 6 of us. I caught the most fish and I got 50 Walleye and 35 Pike. My dad in the same boat got 42 walleye and around 13 pike. Topwater action for the pike was great. They will hit pretty much anything but I used fin s fish and a zara spook. We did a lot of trolling and used hot n tots and rapalas. Walleye we jigged up a lot using white or yellow mister twister and a nightcrawler. Walleye sizes seemed to be pretty low this year. A lot of 12-14" My cousins got some 16-18". We did manage to get our 16 keepers at least 15". My cousins also go the biggest pike at 7lbs 4 oz. I was close with 6lb 10oz. Kinda disappointing no really big ones this year as there are 35lbs in there and usually we get one at least 10lbs. I got a bunch though from 4-6lbs. Also our neighbors in the other cabin were not too sociable at all which has never happened before. We'll definately be back up next year. As always great people and you wont be disappointed goin there.
