I went fishing today with Mickey Lawson to Nickajack. We put in a Marion County and started there. Saw some fish chasing minnows on top of an old roadbed and caught three nice bass there on a 1/2oz X-cal and lost a big fish. We caught three bass off the rock point at the old dam, two on the smokin blue finesse worm (SBFW) and one on the X-cal. Fished shallow wood for a long time, trying to get a big spawner but no takers. Fished outlying wood off the islands at the rock quarry and caught a few bass there on SBFW. Mullins Cove was cold, only giving up two 2lbs, one on the X-cal at the rock island and one on the SBFW in mid cove in grass stems. Mickey caught a couple of 2+ bass off the rock bank at the gap,on a sinko with a nail in the tail We caught several more off the island there on the SBFW. It was breezy and cloudy all day. Ended the day at 4:30 with 24 bass (11 over two pounds)...TC
