    Red Rocket Oil

I am using Yellow Rocket Oil and like it, but I use several rods and reels and the constant reapplication of the Yellow is getting old. Has anyone tried both Red and Yellow? If so, how much of a decrease in performance am I likely to have with the Red? Thanks.

Red vs Yellow Rocket Oil - Not Much Difference If..... from gowge  7/13/2000 12:46:00 AM
If you have rods you're only casting short distances, and not using on a regular basis, go for the red in those reels, so you won't need to re-apply but a few times a year. For reels on your flipping or pitching rods, where a really slick reel is a big benefit, stick with the yellow - you will probably be able to see a difference when tossing lighter lures... If you have one rod that must cast long, to cover a lot of water, that's a good one to lube with the faster Yellow Rocket Oil as well...

When you re-lube your reels, it only takes about a drop for each bearing, and in some reels, like Abu "Ultra-Cast" style reels, you can lube the spool bearings without removing them from the reel...

GOOD LUCK!

Thanks for advice, Gowge. from D. Anderson (208.189.27.44)  7/13/2000 11:15:00 PM
