SUBJECT: # 4327: A funny thing happened...

Submitted by Big John (199.244.214.30) from VIRGINIA on 5/2/2008 10:33:00 PM

I was putting in the boat the other weekend in Hopewell, VA on the James River. When I showed up at the boat ramp there was the normal long Saturday line of boats waiting to put in. After getting the boat ready to launch I sat in line and watched others launch their boats until my turn. Two boats in front of me was a brand new 26' Cabin Cruiser launching. I watched as they began backing down the ramp. Wife walking along the side of the boat holding onto a 6 foot piece of rope. After a few minutes the husband finally gets the boat down the ramp and into the water. He hits the breaks to shake the boat off and jerks the line out of his wifes hand. At that point the boat takes off drifting accross the harbour towards some docked boats. As the wife screams at her husband and he screams back, an on-looker comes running full spead out of nowhere and dives into the water (It is April in Virginia and the water is cold). The person swims accross the harbour grabs the bow line and swims it back to the wife on the dock. As Aquaman makes his way back up the boat ramp I reconize him from the barbershop I used to frequent. He was the strange barber that nobody ever used in the shop. I remember one day at the barbershop when he showed me the great stabbing action he had on a small knife that he held in this palm with the blade sticking out between his ring and middle finger. Yeah, I waited for the other guy to cut my hair.

theres a good chance he is pretty skilled with the clippers and scissors. Anybody who would freeze his nads off to retrieve a boat for a total stranger probably wouldn't harm someone paying him for a haircut...

Wait for this guy next time as you get free self defense lessons and make friends with someone that would dive into cold azz water and either save you or your boat...

What a dork. Don't he know yer susposed to put your biotch in the boat before you launch er. 85% of you gurls out there don't have any business handlin such complicated manners... Gurls you know who you is, so don't bother.

As far as dorky dork dork barbar man... I'm speachless... Most of us would have been bent over in a gut ache from severe lauhgter!!!!!!!!!1

  4. 7/16/2008 4:55:00 PM Submitted by Jeff #10890 from MARYLAND says partnered with a Dick
When launching my rig with my draw partner, we'll call him Dick, holding the line as I backed down the ramp all went smooth. I parked, walked back to the ramp checking out all of the other launching activity, boats were everywhere, in the water and on the lot. I got to the ramp and saw DICK standing there holding the line, did I mention there was not a boat tied to the other end of the line!!! As I was quickly looking around I asked where the boat was? DICK was standing there very calmly and pointed out to the middle of the small river, did I mention it was a tidal river and the tide was moving? He said there it is as it was floating away. He made NO attempt to ask anyone for help. I asked a guy near by if he would mind taking me to my boat and of course he said OK. I don't believe DICK ever fished with me again.
