Just bought a 1995 Nitro 2000DC with a Johnson 200. Any body know any thing about them pro or con? Is there anything I should be watching out for?

Hello Bob. This is Mike from Kansas. Me and my dad owned a 1991 Nitro 2000 Dc. we bought the boat new the same year the Intruder series 150's came out. The boat ran great with only the 150 on the back. The biggest problem we had with the boat, the seam where the top deck was attached to the hull. We fish lots of heavy timber and had a lot of problems with stress cracks right above rubber strip. Fished some windy days on Truman main lake points and you could hear crackling sounds as baot was smacked up against trees. Only other problems we had was some small cracks bottom of live wells. Wasn't hard to fix. We had good luck with the boat. The large deep live kept fish alive in even the hottest tourneys. Storage is great. We are both running Tr-18 s and miss our 20 ft Island sometimes. The hull design has to be one of the easist to drive. As to n2bassn post. Ask how come when Nitro when to the dark side they had to go to a 225 to try to keep the 2000 running over 70. funny Aint it.
