Cbass, i can't say for that far back but i owned '97 X2050 and it was as good as any thing on the market for fishing, only wood in the deck like Rangers, all options came with the boat and was pretty fast. Astro also makes a second line boat which is a bit less expensive in '97 if the model # had an X in front of it it was there top of the line boat. if no X then it was a second line boat. but i think if you like it ether way you should get it. just remember Astro does not make Bass boats any more. Procraft, fisher and Nitros make Bass boats for that orgination.

i rode with gary klien last year on the miss. river and i didnt care much for his.the run was about 2 hours one way, sure was rough and i had to sit on the deck when we took off to get up.it had some good ideas on the layout for storage but with all the others to chose from i think astro is way down the line.

I just sold my Astro to my dad.I owned it for 4 years never had a single problem. It was an S18B with a 150 XR6 no problems out of the hole and pretty fast. Not a top of the line, but an all around comfortable good fishing boat.

I've owned a 97 1800 Astro since it was new. It's a well built boat, not real fancy, that fishes real well. The fit and finish is good and after two years of use, at least once a week and two vacation weeks a year, Ive had no problems or stress cracks. The Astros and Procrafts came from the same molds, the Astro name was dropped from the Bassboat line. When I can afford a bigger boat, it'll be a Procraft. Del. Go Fish.

I currently run an Astro2050dcx and I will put it up against any comparable equipped boat of any brand for ride top end fishability and fit and finish.I owned a 19'6"Procraft for 11 years and had no problems.I take real good care of my equipment and it takes care of me.I have fished tournaments for over 30 years and have ridden in every make and model,a lot of a boats ride and perfomance has to do with the operater.Astro is as good as any boat out there.
