Need more info from Farallon (209.152.156.57)  6/19/2001 1:02:00 PM
When you write "river", I think of a body of water a hundred or more yards across, strong current and the ability to get rough. When you write "shallow", I think of a stream with rapids.

Regarding boat selection, I like a flat bottom boat (jon boat) for lazy water, a drift boat for rougher streams, a v-hull for open rivers. If there is a chance of damaging an outdrive on rocks, I would want a jet.

They also have jons with a tunnel hull for really skinny water

it is the upper Potomac from dtkloc (209.108.73.45)  6/19/2001 1:41:00 PM
It normally runs about 100 yards accross and about 7 feet deep. Of course there are areas that you have to cross going up stream or down that it gets shallow to about 1 foot.
