Does anyone else have a Lowe 180WZ? I have a 2000 with an Evinrude 115 FICHT. The boat is a rocket, my guage reads around 64mph, depthfinder speed sensor shows 67mph with just myself in the boat. I have 2 major complaints about the boat however. The livewell is very, very small. I'm a tournament fisherman and really fear killing the fish in the livewell. Also, the boat will drive you nuts by porpoising unless you run the trim all the way down or put the hammer down and go all out. Does any other owner of a 180WZ have this happen? E-mail me if you want.....Tom

Don't have one but.......... from Big Al  7/12/2001 7:15:00 PM
I wanted to buy one. A dealer in NH had a 2000 leftover with the 115 Ficht and I could have had it for 13.5K. He would have swapped out the 115 and put a 70 four stroke on it for 11.5K. This would have been my choice, but still out of my range. Great looking boat and the hull design looks like it will fly. Glad to hear you are happy with it. AL

   Try this. from Steve P. (12.94.23.70)  7/12/2001 10:23:00 PM
Go to post #42372. If your hull is a pad type hull, like the Xpress, it should work. This is a factory fix for the porpoising problems. It will not reduce top end speed, but will allow you to run mid range speeds with the motor trimmed out further, without the bounce. You might want to lower the motor, if it's too high also. That helped on my Xpress. What size prop are you turning? Those speeds seem very high for that setup.
