    ProCraft 180 and/or ProCraft185

First, thanks to all those who provided info in response to my Sabre/TR18 post from last week.

I am looking to buy used in the next 12 months and now I am hoping to hear from the ProCraft owners. From what I can tell the boat is on the lower end of the price spectrum, for example I have seen the 1998 180 with asking price as low as $9,995 - thats a good thing in my book - but what I would like to know is how do you guys that own them like the 180/185? Other than length, what are the major differences between the 180 and 185?

Also, does anybody know where I can find a list of the specs for the 180? I have searched the internet but have come up dry so far, less info provided by NADA.

Finally, I understand ProCrafts are now under the Tracker Marine umbrella - Has overall quality of the ProCraft line changed since the buyout? If so, better or worse?

Thanks in advance for you valued opinions. You all have been a great help in my research process.

i own a 98 180 and it is a great value boat. as for quality changes since tracker took over . there isint any. tracker pretty much left the marine group alone when it purchased them , although they did borrow procrafts glass technology to help shore up the nitro lines. ie... the nitro 9 series was introduced after the buyout...........that being said , i do like my boat even though its a bit small for lake erie. i shopped long and hard before i made my decision and concluded that procraft provided the best boat value on the market.with my purchase everything i wanted was included inthe price. custom cover, stainless prop,on board charger, extra seats, trolling motor upgrade. the boat was ready to fish when i got it. would i buy another one? id say probably. especially the super pro series........da dude

I believe the current 185 carries the same specs as the previous 180, so read the current 185 spec sheet. ProCraft remains it's own company dispite the buyout, and the ProCraft is a totally different boat than the Nitro. The quality of construction has improved since 1999, with new hull designs, etc, and company support for my rigs has been excellent.

Angling Alabama - Experience trophy smallmouth, largemouth and spotted bass fishing in North and Central Alabama - Tournament Tactics - Sponsors include ProCraft/Mercury and Russell Sporting Center in Florence, Alabama.

I have a 1999 Procraft 180 and so far so good. Great ride and no problems and still looks like new when I clean her up. Email me with your fax number. I think I still have my spec sheet and I will fax to you.

I have a 1996 180 ProCraft Combo, Fish-N-Ski, with a 150 h.p. Mariner Mag III engine. I just could not ask for any better set up. I have a grandson that is a great water skier but loves to fish also. He and I have spent many good hours in this boat and never had any problems whatsoever. If I were buying a new rig today, it would be a ProCraft with a Mercury engine. (Mariner is only made and shipped out of the U.S. now because of new Fed. regulations.)
