    Installing Teleflex Pro-Trim?

I have a '91 Sprint 275 with a mid 80's Mariner V-6. I just ordered a Hot Foot and Teleflex Pro-Trim switch (turn signal type) from BPS. I would like to tie into the trim wiring going to the switch at the from of the boat. Here's the thing though. On my motor, the control lever trim only will allow the motor to trim so far and then auto stops. The front trim switch will allow you to trim the motor all the way up. Is there a seperate wire in the main trim wiring that has to be connected to prevent the motor from over trimming like the control mounted switch does? If I have to, I will just tie into the control box trim switch. But it would be a lot neater if I could tie into the wiring going to the front switch.

Wiring pattern from Tom (68.116.194.223)  4/18/2003 8:19:00 AM
I wired one into my boat by pulling the switch at the bow. At this switch I was able to verify the color code for the wiring used to trim the motor. It was then a simple case to find this wiring color cade under the counsel. I then used a straight line splice crimp (blue in color) and then...

Cut the appropriate wire, stripped both cut ends. Fed both end into one side of the splice crimp and crimped the end secure. The open end was then connected to the wiring for the trim on the column. Works great.
