My MINN KOTA 101 36 volt trolling motor stays on run mode regardless where if the switch is on the constant or mon. I checked the foot switch to make sure its not stuck down. Any help would be appreciated.

Check that foot switch again, Wes from Mike21XL  10/12/2005 6:18:00 AM
I just went through the same thing on mine. The button on mine sprung back with no problem, but the switch inside was hanging up. The best way to check that switch is just unhook the 2 wires going to it, if it stops then, you know your going to have to replace it. Hope this helps, Mike

How old is your trolling motor. I have a 101 on my Stratos and the switch stuck all of the time. I bought mine in 2003. I called Minnkota and told them that this was a safety issue and what could be done to correct it. they had me take it to an authorized factory service center and they replaced everything in the foot pedal. They have a new design switch and they replace all the electronic parts in the foot pedal. The trolling motors are warrentied (sp) for 3 years.

I haven't had any problems since. I went to Minnkota's web site to find the closest service center, called them and explained my problem and they took care of it right away. I hope this helps and you get your's taken care of.

Larry

Minnkota switch from Bobby Bales (152.163.100.65)  10/13/2005 5:27:00 PM
Had the same problem with my Minnkota 101. Check your direction arrow on top of motor, you may find the light is on,even with the motor off. My switch felt like it was alright, but was hung up on the inside. Easy fix, just change out the switch. Switch cost about $25.00.
