I have a 85 johnson 40 hp , its a great little motor My question is this, the owners manual says to mix the oil/gas at 100 to 1, I have always used 50/1, motor runs fine but wants to load up during long periods of slow speed, like when shrimping, Is my owners manual wrong or should I be mixing 100/1 Thanks,

Johnson Motor from hawgchaser  11/12/2009 10:18:29 AM
I owned a 90hp johnson for years and always used 50:1 mixture, the motor is still running sweet as of last week. The only other thing i did was add seafoam at fillup.
