    Power Pole Setup
from CPA Basser #15527

I am planning to get dual power poles installed on my boat and was looking for feedback from other power pole users regarding some of the options/accessories. Is the wave absorber kit needed and effective at holding in windy conditions? Did you get the foot switch kit and if so, do you think it is necessary to get the remote control, as well? I'm planning to get both power poles installed on a single switch rather than separate switches and am only considering getting the wave absorber kit on one pole. Appreciate any feedback or input from others with experience with the power poles. Thanks.

I have never used a double pole set-up so I don't know crap about all the pluses and minuses. I have owned and used PowerPoles long enough to know they have a great customer service crew. Call them and discuss your situation and I'm sure they will answer your questions and probably set you up to meet with one of their prostaff that's using the set-up you want.

   I just got two power poles. from STRETCH1 #11051  5/14/2011 8:45:31 PM
I got two power poles. I chosen to NOT have teh wave absorber but it can be added at a later date with no problem. I would definately NOT use just one, either get them for both or none.

I also used quick connect hydraulic fittings and now they are removable if I want.

I got rocker switches for the front and at the console. I also have a remote. I chosen to have two switches as I can remove my power poles I wanted the flexibility of using the Port one, starboard one or both.

The boat holds very well without the wave adsorber. This is my smaller second boat, when I get my big boat back from the Ranger factory they are going on there and I can report back as to how they work on a 21 ft boat. (That is the main reason I made them removable too).

Thanks for the Feedback from CPA Basser #15527  5/16/2011 9:44:08 PM
I've decided to just get the remote at first and then decide whether to add wave absorber kit and foot switch kit after using the poles for a while. Appreciate the feedback STRETCH1. I'm putting them on a 21' boat, too. Thanks.

I use both floor buttons and the remote with the double Power Pole setup.. Believe me there is a place for both of them.

The buttons are used when I hook a fish and want to anchor down quickly since my hands are tied up. Or if I want to anchor but do not want to stop casting. I use them 75% of the time.

The remote is used for precise anchoring when I have a specific target and am manuevering with the TM to get set in the precise location with the TM - bedding fish, flipping mats on windy days, etc. It is for planning in advance boat location.

If I could only select one for a bassboat, the floor buttons are the way to go in my opinion.

I have felt no real need for the Wave Absorber in two years in using this set up.
