I have a 2004 yamaha 150 vmax and was wondering how you add fluid to the trim/tilt motor. I unscrewed the cap and the stuff started gushing out. You would think they would put the screw cap on top of the reservoir not down towards the bottom. Is this like the lower unit, fill it up and then get the screw in quick before all of it comes out. Is there some kind of attachment that screws to the reservoir and then attaches to the fluid container so its easier to fill up. What a pain, should be easier to service the fluid.

It should be tilted all the way up before you check the level.
