Just bought a couple on recommendation of a store salesman. They seem pretty nice or are they just pretty?

   Rip'n Minnow SP 65 from Desert Rat (209.253.231.38)  9/30/1999 2:03:00 AM
I have a couple of SP 65's in yellow colored shiner pattern. The Cultiva SP 65 is small and light so I throw it on a spinning outfit. For the last few trips it has been one of the best producers in one lake that has a small minnow population as a food base. I have outfished the other two guys in the boat using it even though I am in the back of the boat. They throw their baits and zilch. I hit near the same area and the largemouth whack it. Now this doesn't happen all the time nor every day. The bass have to be actively feeding for the Rip'n Minnow to work.

Otherwise I have much better luck with the Bandit mistake or a spinnerbait for a reaction strike. The water is very stained and visibility is less than 2 feet. It could be the rattles sound different from the crank sounds these bass normally hear also from both the Cultiva and the Bandits.

Some say they have good luck with these baits used as jerkbaits and they use a feathered treble on the rear hook in clear water lakes. I haven't tried that yet.
