Earlier this week I saw a a post on winter bassin and It got me to wondering what everyone's tactics are for different water temps. I saw one guy who topwater fishes at 45 degrees and others that only throw jiging spoons. Don't get me wrong I've been catching fish on Jiging spoons here in Mississippi since Thanskgiving(Also caught a few on a Pupfish on top) So if you would be so kind as to indulge me. What lures do you use for water 50-55, 45-50, and below 45 degrees. For me below 45 degrees(TIME TO GO VERTICAL) its a jigging spoon, small jig-n-pig crappie jigs, and 2-3"grubs 45-55, jigging spoon, Small jig-n-pig, spinnerbait real slow, Jerk bait real slow and suspending to sinking, 3-4"Grubs 50-55 jigging spoon,3-5"grubs, jig and pig. suspending jerkbait, 1 oz Fat free shad(Drag this baby across the bottom real slow in moving water and hold on), Storm wiggle wart, and Spinnerbait, Thanks for your 2Cents worth.

first of all, if the water the shallow, the depth of lure is less important.on the other hand if you fish deep water, the depth is the key. the temperature itself at a certain day is not very important. the importance is what's the temperature last few days. if last several days were all in the 40s, and today is high 50s, go for the top water lure. if last several days were in high 50s, and today is 45, use jigs. try to picture how fish feel, as the initial temperature increases, go for the top water, when the initial temperature decreases, go for the jigs. it doesn't matter what's the initial temperature
