Will waterdogs work? from Doug  4/15/2003 7:51:00 AM
Snakebite Custom Baits (a board sponsor) makes waterdogs that are black with yellow spots. I bought some 9 inchers, but I am pretty sure they make six or seven inch versions too.

Be careful of coloration ? from arjon (64.156.135.248)  4/15/2003 9:42:00 AM

Some lizards in nature are highly, or brightly colored as a warning to other creatures that they are poison.

mike...I talked to doug hannon about colors and he said.... from art (64.12.96.138)  4/16/2003 8:33:00 PM
bass love the color red..any variation with red is good..example; red shad, teq.sunrise, even two tone colors with red..red/black,red/green,red/blue etc...But..Don't use the color YELLOW. They hate it with a passion..To them yellow is a caution and make no mistake about it..chartusse is a form of yellow..but they don't see it as yellow like we do..even at a distance colors change..I hope i helped you out on this..

 Mike,

Mister Twister makes the Black Lizard with Yellow dots in both the 6.5" and also the 4". They have been making them for a long time. As you know, colors come and go. If they don't work they go. This one has been around for some time. They make them with white dots as well. you can check them out at www.mistertwister.com. I just ordered a bunch.

While you are there, take a look at the new Twistermite, also know as Smallmouth candy! LOL

Art, I just thumbed through my BPS catalog and when I looked at all the baits from flies to plastic to cranks to spinnerbaits, I had to really look for a page that did not have yellow on part of the bait. Gold is a form of yellow as is chartreause. I am probably not the only one that won't leave home without a spinnerbait with a gold blade. In some circumstances I use painted blades in yellow and I can't argue with success.

Steve
