I will be making my own this winter as I work exclusively with balsa and happen to have an original that will be duplicated to my exacting standards. I have already x-rayed the bait to get the exact location of weight and the hook hangers and line tie

Sounds good from ricomike (209.163.240.132)  9/12/2006 3:26:00 PM
Blackjack makes quality baits and I look forward to his version. Please let me know when they may be available.

I would be really interested in helping you test those!!!!!

Gonna be awhile for these from BlackJack  9/12/2006 6:49:00 PM
Thanks Mike!! Rob, I dont think that will be a problem!! Should be an interesting project, New boat wont be done till thanksgiving and by then the water will be getting hard for the winter. When I get some done I will surely let everyone know

I'd be interested too, LOL! Plus, where to get Balsa Pros! from California Kid (152.163.100.68)  9/12/2006 9:30:00 PM
What's up guys? Hey BlackJack; I too would be very interested in testing your baits. I fish the Balsa Pros more than any other walking bait and it is by far my favorite surface bait. If I can help you out; let me know! I live in San Diego where the bass chase bait all the way through December. Topwater heaven, LOL! I'd give you the most honest review possible and your baits will get fished hard. Just make some in the sickest shad pattern possible and I'll be happy. Let me know and I look forward to hopefully fishing a bait as good or better than the Balsa Pro.

Now for RicoMike! If you're desperate; you can probably get one on E-Bay for way too much money. I honestly don't have much luck finding them when I'm actually looking for them. They just kind of pop up from time to time. If you see one for a price you are willing to pay; buy it. Don't worry about the color because they all work well. I have bought seven so far and I haven't payed more than $19 each for any of them. I have even bought a few for $13 each! If you are patient, some will come along for the right price. I saw one on here once that sold for around $8. I couldn't believe it. It sold in like 10 minutes! Some people just don't know what they have and the ones that do; either won't sell them or ask A LOT for them. I wouldn't sell any of mine! My point is that if you want a Balsa Pro; just keep your eye out for them. And buy them right away if it's the right price. Because if you don't; someone else will.

Hope this helps and Good Luck Bassin'!

How will I know if see one????? from j.aderhold (65.5.91.2)  9/13/2006 10:22:00 AM
Can somebody post a picture of one? I may run across one and not know what the heck it is.

   Can't post a pic; but.... from California Kid (152.163.100.68)  9/15/2006 6:19:00 PM
here's a description! If you see a bait that looks like a wooden Sammy; but ISN'T a Wooden Sammy; it's probably a Balsa Pro. Plus, it comes in packaging that says Balsa Pro on it. It's a little fatter/rounder than the Lucky Craft Wooden Sammy and DOESN'T have a cup in the front to spit water. It has no rattle and all the colors have foil on them. There are five colors; Baby Bass, Tennessee Shad, Mimic Minnow, Morning Dawn, and Lightning Shad. All are good. They come with trashy bright silver hooks; but the detail of the bait is awesome. There really aren't any other walking baits that look the same.

Hope that kinda helps and Good Luck Bassin'!
