Has Anybody Fished With The Yellow Skeet Rods?

Rated:

Just bought 2 Skeet Reese rods and matched them with revo reels. These rods are super light and feel real comfortable. I tied on a senko worm and went outside to see how they throw, man you can throw that senko a country mile.

Can't wait to get on water and see how they react to a bass tugging on the other end lol !!!!

Does anybody got anything to say about these rods, negative or positive comments?

Thanks, Procraftmrk

which model of rods did you get.

Very good rods... from BC  12/2/2009 3:23:13 PM
and fits my budget perfectly. I have the whole lineup except the spinning rods. The spinning rods are good also but I have 2 good Shimano spinning rods and I did not need new ones. The actions are perfect for their intended use and are very durable rods.

A buddy of mine is the product development manager at W&M and he developed the technology behind the construction of the rods (S-Curve). The original technology was used for butterfly jigging rods in saltwater. My friend presented the technology to Skeet and he was so impressed that he signed on.

Take Care

I will say that the price is right.

Is the Senko/Toad Rod strong enough to fish hollow bodied frogs?

picked one up from 1SG  12/3/2009 3:49:25 PM
Picked one up this morning at decatur bait and tackle, and honestly it felt cheap had alot of whip feel to it. I did'nt look at what model it was but even a guy there said it outta be good for crappie?

Looked like it should handle a zebco 33 just fine.

My guess is that you picked up the Crankbait rod. That is the only rod in the lineup that has any "whip" to it. And, a good crankbait rod should have "whip".

Skeet Reese Yellow Rods from Procraftmrk #10999  12/4/2009 2:32:07 AM
I agree with BC, the only rod in lineup that had whip to it was the crankbait rod. The 2 rods I bought were the 7-2 "fast" senko toad rod,and the 7-6 "med-fast" carolina rig swimbait rod. these 2 rods had no whip, felt great, balanced right for a revo reel.

I compared the Skeet rods to the orange carrot stix and the JB custom made rods and could not tell any difference between them.

The rods are highly visible with blaze yellow color every one will know what you are using just like the carrot stix are orange.

Procraftmrk, Go Tar Heels !!!

I picked one up the other day and it felt heavy to me. Maybe I am biased and particular to the rods I build myself...

   the length from 1SG  12/4/2009 12:00:18 PM
it felt limber down the whole lentgh not just the tip for crankbaits. It honestly felt like a $20 dollar korean made el cheapo.

Not trying to be a smart arse 1SG but... from BC  12/4/2009 8:41:33 PM
"limber down the whole length of the rod", is good for mid-depth to deep diving crankbaits. Also, I think if it is good enough for Skeet to use, I will too. He actually uses that exact cranking rod now.

The KVD Quantum Cranking rod has the same "whip". Give her a try next time you see one.

Take care and have fun with your Zebco 33! :)

I think they are heavy from gary #10549  12/6/2009 10:05:29 AM
Also the spinning rods have very small guides as if they used casting guides, to heavy also. The only one I would take if they gave me one would probably be the spinnerbait rod. Again if they gave it to me lol.
