 Daiwa Samurai or Daiwa Saltiga.

... fluoro leader (attached w/ a double uni). This will eliminate almost all spinning reel line problems if you remember to replace it after about a year's use. When the Fireline loses its stiffness and becomes limp, reverse your line. Then replace it when the second end dies. In the long run, this is cheaper than even replacing mono every trip or two and certainly beats buying spools of fluro. JMHO.

I use the white (so-callead clear) because it floats and function like a bobber to reveal hits on slowly sinking plastics like Senkos and wackies.

   Let me from 5keepers  5/14/2012 1:22:59 PM
start by saying I fish spinning more than most. I try most lines that have a hint of being spinning line.
My current favorite set up is Berkley Nanofil 12 lb with a flurocarbon leader. I use Seaguar Red Label for leader and vary the pound test from 8 to 15 depending on water clarity.

I will be the first to say there are other good products out there but this works best for me.

If you choose a main line with leader you will need to learn a good joining knot and tie it correctly. There are several out there.

This set up does not in my opinion work well for drop shotting.

I use lead line from Wackoman  5/14/2012 2:44:51 PM

that way when I throw that ill behaved thing in the lake it will sink quickly to the bottom and no one else every have to use it;)

Just kidding. I have an excellent Daiwa spinning reel 5 keepers got for me. I put bright green or maybe even chartreuse color braid (Suffix brand I think) on it and use Sunline shooter for the leader. It is an excellent setup as the bright light acts a a strike indicator. I use it every once and a while with good success.

Izorline from Jeff Hahn  5/14/2012 4:04:41 PM
I use Izorline Platinum for all of my fishing. On my spinning reels, I use 6, 8, or 10 pound test. Platinum is a little stiff for some folks (although the stiffness mean little stretch and high abrasion resistance). If you prefer, you can go with the Izorline XXX Super Mono. It is a limper than the Platinum, while only sacrificing a tiny bit in the stretch and abrasion resistance departments. You can get Izorline numerous places on the web, including Tackle Warehouse or order it from Cabela's.

I use Izorline on all my rods casting and spinning, The Platinum is a bit stiffer than the XXX...they both have low sretch and is superior in the strenght dept....Try it ,you will love it...PERIOD

   Second to 5Keepers from elunde #18605  5/15/2012 2:29:01 PM
I'll second 5Keepers and the Nanofil. I just recently started using it after using the Fireline 'Crystal' for years. I prefer the Nanofil for smoothness and castability over the Fireline and like the white color as well for line watching.

I also use Seaguar for a leader with a double-uni conection.

I still use the Fireline too, but that's just because I'm too cheap to throw it out and spend the money on the Nanofil. That stuff lasts forever.

I'm also with 5 KIeepers re. from Ralph Manns  5/17/2012 12:59:31 PM
 The Seguar Red Label leaders.
