 Got a new BPS fishing catalog and happened to see Senkos all priced at $8.29, regardless of size. Thought that was a typo, but the web site was also up there. Time to check out alternatives.

   Dingers from Jeff Hahn  6/12/2012 4:37:00 PM
 I love Senkos, but they have been out of my price range for a long time. I have used Yum Dingers for the last few years. They are tougher and you'll get more fish per bait. When I want a softer bait, I buy the Derek Yamamoto Kinami's at Wal-Mart.

   Senkos last forever from StevieP  6/12/2012 7:41:50 PM
 Yeah, I've probably got thirty pounds worth of Senko knock-offs, but sometimes, only the original will do. There's just something about the weight, action, and fish-catching ability of the real Senkos (and in my case, Yamamoto cut-tail worms which are a confidence bait).

Get yourself some Mend-It or similar soft-bait glue and you'll cut your Senko usage tremendously, and won't have to resort to using knock-offs.

Instead of a Senko lasting thirty casts or two fish whichever comes first, you can fish one bait all morning. Yes, they still get torn up but at the end of the day take your bag of senko pieces home and in five or ten minutes make them whole again. You can experiment with gluing together two tails, or different colored pieces to create unique baits. The glued baits are more durable the second and third time.

At this rate I've probably got enough $5.99 bags to last a couple years.

   Dicks is cheaper.. from Backseat Driver #12199 #12199  6/12/2012 8:02:09 PM
 I was in Dicks today and they had Senkos for under $7.00 a bag, plus the Fathers day ad has them on sale for 20% off. For that price I'll stock up on the few colors that I use. I also saw the local Walmart had the Kinami baits for about $5.50 a bag, but they only carry about 5 colors. Their Yum dingers were $3.00 a bag but again limited colors.

   That's OK from Jeff Hahn  6/12/2012 10:32:46 PM
 That's OK...I only carry 3 colors, anyway.

 Not the best place to buy Senko's. But I too have noticed an increase in price. Didnt realize the market price of plastisol, sand and salt had increased! (;

 senko and kinami are the same thing, and from what I've seen are the same price, only difference is in the name and how many come in a bag, kinami come 7 per bag I believe and senkos come 10, price per senko is same. Lots of father's day sales out there , 10-15-20 percent off a lot of places , time to stock up !!!!!

 Recently, I was told by a major plastics manufacturer, that the extreme amount of salt in Senkos wears out the mold much quicker than normal. Bob Sanders

   Bob, that makes sense from RobShaw  6/14/2012 10:24:09 AM
 of course I dont have the pressurized injector equipment that they use but even with hand pouring or using a single hand injector, the extra salt does have an effect over time.
