here's my e-mail to head biologist in the area from Beartrap   6/25/2012 8:47:35 PM

this setting of boundaries for the Elite tournament is gaining the Wisconsin DNR some well deserved recognition as one of the most inept, ignorant and arrogant DNR depts. in the U.S.A. Having a closed season and the no-cull rule is proof positive of that...Other than setting a daily limit for smallmouths so that the charter boats can't affect the fishery, nothing that the DNR does affects a fishery as large as Lake Michigan especially with a short fishing season in northern climates....
Furthermore by setting these boundaries, the Green bay area lost a golden opportunity to showcase the fishery and bring thousands of fishermen and tourism dollars into the region......Look no further than Guntersville or Falcon lake for proof of this.....

   I was advised from Hutch #10968 #10968  6/26/2012 1:22:40 AM
"Michael Donofrio, the Fisheries Team Supervisor for the Northeast Region" would get back with me...... and it ate my e mail so I don't have a copy to post here..... I think if the people of the state of Wisconsin can muster up the courage to question some of these DNR people instead of follow them like sheep....... this may get interesting.... This is literally going to cost the merchants of that area thousands upon thousands of dollars as I am certain that BASS will not be coming back without some drastic changes and guarantees from the State and the DNR...... Hutch

I don't think the people of Wisconsin are as upset from Hoot  6/26/2012 9:50:25 AM
as folks on here are or really consider rules imposed by the WI DNR on an Elite BASS Tournament as a form of social or economic injustice. The event is going to be held anyway so nobody really knows what they might be or might not be missing in the future.BASS doesn't go anywhere for free and maybe if the BASS event is a huge plus for the area after the costs of having it are deducted there could be some pressure exerted by individuals with real influence other than angry Bass site bloggers.

Wisconsin is a year round tourist mecca in the summer folks flock there to enjoy it's considerable water resources. Especially Door County where Sturgeon Bay the site of the controversy is located. I guarantee they aren't just vacationing in Door County because of fishing.

Winter activities are also a big time source of cash in Wisconsin especially ice fishing, cross country skiing & snowmobiling.

There is a major cross country ski race called the Birkenbinder held in Hayward, WI that draws contestants from all over the world plus every one shows up with an average of 3.6 other people who are there just for a good time. There are way more folks in town for this than there will be for an Elite BASS Tournament and the community doesn't have to pony up a bunch of free motel rooms, rental cars or cash.

The snowmobiles also flock to Wisconsin for it's ample snow and the ice fisherman are there in droves especially on Green Bay.

I bet your speeches on legalizing gay marriage in your state were just as forceful and inspiring as your comments about a state that BJLC says you are not qualified to comment about because you do not live there. Hutch

Hutch you can't help yourself can you? from Hoot  6/26/2012 12:53:45 PM
Your Homophobia still overcomes you sure you haven't been hiding in the closet all these years and using posts like this to divert attention from your own personal insecurities?

Had a few lurkers on here comment that I was sure getting along well with Old Hutch...

My comment was that well I've sure learned a lot of really interesting historic information about crank-baits and have enjoyed the photos of his collection...

Their response was just be patient as the real Hutch will show up eventually...Well here you are in all your previous glory running your yap just like old times...

I've had a few serious discussions with BJLC over the years not always agreeing however he's intelligent enough to stick to the topic at hand...Wish you could be the same

It's all a Power Trip for DNR from Rangerman  6/26/2012 1:54:47 PM
They Da Man with the badge and gun, common sense has no bearing in this matter, and in MI no power loading. I guess they use different concert than we use here in NC. The closed season sure helps the SM fishing.

   Btw Hoot...... from Hutch #10968 #10968  6/26/2012 4:08:39 PM
You seem like you feel you are affording me some honor by the possibility of being your friend...but believe me..... I do not give a rat's azz if I ever see you again... You are an enabler also..... Now go be a good little flower girl at some friends wedding.... lol You can help me tho by answering a question...... At an Iowa gay marriage is there a best man and can the best man also be gay? Confusing. Lol You are indeed an intellectual "Hoot" lol Hutch

Did you get a worthwhile response from the Wisconsin, DNR?......... Mine simply restated the same talking points and gave me links to every old post tournament mortality rates that I have seen in selected studies for years... Ohhhhhh well...... Got a feeling this one isn't over yet tho....... Later, Hutch

Welcome back Hutch sure glad to know from Hoot  6/26/2012 6:17:49 PM
you are still the same old miserable ignorant worthless pile of DNA taking up space and breathing air you've always been you must be like a Locust and go dormant every once and a while..

I've really been waiting for the game to be back on as you have been a real source of amusement

Just so you can brag a little...You were recently listed as one of the main reasons several individuals have left the BFHP..Glad you enabled a rival site to gain subscribers..

You need to stop at the information booth the next time you attend one of those Oklahoma Gay Pride Events since you have so many questions about your new found self...

Beartrap...... did you get a response back from WI DNR? from Hutch #10968 #10968  6/26/2012 8:58:20 PM
 Anything interesting? Hutch

   I agree that the WI DNR's decision from Richards3 #10384 #10384  6/27/2012 6:27:09 PM
misguided and not based on scientific evidence and Beartrap is absolutely right that the DNR has no way of managing a lake the size of lake Michigan anyway. But there is a different mind-set at some of the better Northern lakes than the mind-set at lakes like Guntersville or Falcon. The little towns that border lakes like Guntersville and Falcon rely on fishermen for revenue because there is not much in the way of industry (which is a good thing!). Up North that is not the case and, most local business' could care less about having tournaments on their water, most see them as a nusance. Our season is too short for any motels or restaurants to base their existence on the fishing trade. Frankly as a fisherman on Lake St Clair and Erie I would rather big tournament organizations didn't come up here and draw attention to our fisheries, there are too damn many people fishing them now. The war-cry; "Grow The Sport" is for tackle salesmen that want to grow their wallets, and idiots that believe they will somehow realize their desire of fishing for a living rather than having to hold down a real job if more people crowd our lakes. In all reality, the WI DNR could care less about the opinions of dopey bass fishing fans and I would be surprised if any of your emails are answered. From what I hear the fishing in practice is so bad the pros won't want to go back there anyway.

Forget the Texas tournaments, Forget the concern or lack thereof by Wisconsin citizens for bass tournaments.... BUT DO NOT EVER FORGET THAT THE WI DNR just got away with another case of blatant agenda driven anti bass tournament BS....... and also never forget that is why we are rapidly losing control of our country....... If no one gives a damn....... then we are certainly doomed. How did we reach this stage in our country..... ? Ohhhhhh I know.......by simply sitting idly by and LETTING it happen..... Hutch

have to agree with Hutch here from Brett M  6/28/2012 9:46:50 AM
 its really bigger than fishing...

   come on dude! from Richards3 #10384 #10384  6/29/2012 6:21:19 PM
Not to dismiss the threat of anti hunting and fishing groups, because they are a concern, but you have been listening to Jesse Ventura too much. Without hunters and fishermen DNR's wouldn't exist, they're not going to cut their own throats for some whacky activists. The decision to restrict the Elite anglers was either a very smart decision or a real dumb one. If the WI DNR had the insight to make it uncomfortable for BASS so they wouldn't come back to their waters by putting up these restrictions, then their actions were made in the best interest of Wisconsin anglers. If they actually thought they were having an impact on a fishery the size of lake Michigan with these restrictions, then they are fooling themselves.

The point of my comments are to point out the differences in mentality of many northern lakes compared to some of the popular southern lakes. With the shorter seasons up north, no lodging facilities can stay in business year round based on fishing revenue alone. The lakes are more fragile due to the shorter season and regulation and enforcement is necessary to sustain good fishing. DNR's are concerned in serving the people that pay them; local anglers, not some hillbilly bass fishing fan that is not spending any money in their state. Down south many small towns rely on the fishermen's revenue to prosper. Restrictions are more lax because local governments don't want to run off the fishermen's dollars. I've been traveling south for almost three decades to fish, and although I always purchase a fishing license, I have never been checked for one in a southern lake. Many of my southern friends don't even buy a license in their own state and fish year round!

I distrust our government more than most, but anti fishing organizations don't mandate state DNR's and these restrictions weren't encouraged by any animal rights organizations.

hutch you keep bringing that up to Hoot about the gay thing. If you kept up on things as much as you let on you do, you would know all three of those Iowa Justices were voted out. They were the ones that made same sex marriage legal, not the people of Iowa. Look at the idiot in an ELECTED office the people of your state elected. Worse then terrorist? She must be related to-----"legend in his own mind hutch"
