At least when I look at my yard it is. My yard on Google looks nothing like it does today.

The Wheeler boy said this to Bassfan.

Performance edge – “During pre-practice, I’d have Google Maps up on my cell phone in the satellite view and I could zoom in with my GPS so I knew where all the logjams were and the stumps and how they stood out. I caught a couple key fish that were out more in the middle of the river that weren’t on stuff close to the bank. They were on the stuff that you couldn’t see and nobody knew about. When it got more pressured and more pressured, I knew about that stuff.”

Look in the bottom left corner of google maps and click on the date and it brings up a slide bar in the upper left corner and you can pick a date that an image was taken and the 4/29/2008 view shows the water down.

Thanks! I guess I"m wondering how current can any photo info be on log jams in a river. from Wackoman  8/14/2012 2:03:28 PM

The come and go with every flood.

Must be pretty good way to see the lake though. It worked for Jacob.

Besides I can hardly see the phone numbers on my phone. No way I will be able to see underwater log jams.

I think he caught a fish here but it didn't keep. They said he did catch some earlier in the tournament here.

BING Bird's Eye of that same spot from BR400  8/14/2012 3:55:55 PM

A lot of stumps but it might be hard for an old blind man like myself to see on an I-Phone.

He did fish these stumps out in the river after hitting the logjam at the creek mouth.

I think I could catch one in that spot! Another great photo. Thanks! I never realized he was that far up the creek until I saw your photos.

He went up the Chattahoochee way back when in an old bass club tournament and proceeded to kick our butts with shoal bass. He probably went on past JW's winning stretch.

I use to fish and run trot lines on a river/creek much like that one when I was a kid growing up in Indiana.

aerial photos can reveal some hidden treasures for sure.

I use the Ss below just below the Lula Bridge mostly. Have had a good time there many afternoons. from Wackoman  8/14/2012 4:15:25 PM

Of course that was back when lower units didn't cost 4 and 5 thousands dollars. Also they ain't no Shoalies up there anymore. They are all below Buford Dam now. Blame it on Al Gore.

How do you capture a imagine on Bling Maps or Google Maps either one for that matter?

Whatever the deal was I can only admire JW and the job he did. Congrats to that young man!

Use the satellite portion of mapquest and it shows most of our lakes very low. For me it's better then google earth.

Then for up to date satellite, I use the satellite screens on the weather.com site.

Since his secret is out, no since in holding back any more.

I use the Windows snipping tool.

One Gibson SG

There were two guys up there on Day 3 in a jon-boat running limb lines baited with bream. They had a bass over 5 pounds. They said that stretch of river is awesome for stripers in early spring. They said they have a center console for striper fishing up there. They have friend swith jet boats that go on up.

I use this to capture images on my desktop.

Sounds like access to aerial satellite imagery should be available on a fellows HD-10. from Wackoman  8/14/2012 4:54:12 PM

If y'all see that at the next Icast let them know a Wackoman law suit is on the way. It was my idea.

I think the platinum chip does have aeriel photos.

   OK. I didn't know. from Wackoman  8/14/2012 5:22:18 PM

I've seen the water level photos and of course the detail contour mapping but not aerial like you see on the mapping websites. nm

How far up the hooch was he. I looked for that spot on Bing and couldnt find it.

   Jersey from BR400  8/15/2012 8:23:30 AM
I think we were a good ways upriver. We must have been.....3 tubers passed us from Helen.

Bwwaaahhhh br from JerseyBasser  8/15/2012 4:47:49 PM
Thats funny. We went up there today but not that far. The option of getting the FX 21 stuck on a sandbar was not for us. Especially when you havent ever been up there.

   The Hooch from BR400  8/16/2012 8:54:38 AM
I wouldn't have went but we were able to follow JW from Laurel Park Saturday morning.

Strange to me that FLW will not allow jet boats in the tourney but will let you practice with one. from Wackoman  8/16/2012 10:32:29 AM

That's another stupid rule. As long a a boat has a working livewell it should be allowed.
