Is it our business? from Ksmith  12/13/2001 8:18:00 AM

family values? yes it is! from rich reid (24.45.186.39)  12/13/2001 9:02:00 AM
the man who promotes himself as the family man? the man who stands as a role model? I think it is our business. It is really a shame. I will not pretend to know any of the details and it does take two to tangle but our whole society is being destroyed by divorce.

   If it ain't workin', it ain't workin'... from Z71yanke (208.29.42.4)  12/13/2001 9:28:00 AM

   I wasn't going to comment.... from djd (67.24.173.139)  12/13/2001 9:30:00 AM
I wasn't going to comment on Hank's personal life....I have but two things to say....

1) There are two sides to every story...somewhere in the middle lies the truth.

2) ITS NONE OF OUR BUSINESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

djd

maybe not my business but ....... from tnriverat  12/13/2001 9:56:00 AM
it has little to do with me except for the fact that parker is a favorite of mine and my family,if he uses the angle of family man to promote himself and his show then i think some may take that as cause to have an interest in the subject, also last time i checked people who frequent this board have some rights uner the constitution and can post on just about whatever they fell like posting about, not trying to be offensive here but it seems that several on the bfhp like to police the board and determine what is 'postworthy' and what is not, as for hank parker he spoke at a national tournament meeting that i was fortunate enough to be part of a few years ago and after talking to him a few minutes he comes accross as a genuine person, a great deal of his speech revolved around his family, also saw him at classic one year and he took time to speak to entire families not just the fisherman of the family, he paused to take photos with kids and whole families, i know he was getting paid to be there but he came across as if he really liked being there and meeting people, he is truly a nice person, i hate to hear about this if it is true and i ceratainly hope it isnt, i think his show revolved around his family and that is a big reason for its success, it appeals to the entire family, after all it isnt the most informative show but it has a unique quality about it, i wish him the best as a fisherman and as a person , i think he deserves our best wishes , riverat

Are you sure? from Mike_KatyTx  12/13/2001 10:05:00 AM
Has anyone verified the situation? All too many rumors are spread on the internet by folks that just don't know the facts. Hope that it is NOT true! God bless

I agree that it's none of our business, however... from Greg Heinz  12/13/2001 1:05:00 PM
There are many things that are "none of our business", that WE discuss here as "our business". Please ask yourself if some of the political, or sports, or military, or celebrity figures personal issues, that we have made "our business", were really any of our business to start with. Greg.

   Divorce from Ned (199.72.83.103)  12/13/2001 1:32:00 PM
Yes it is true and yes it is none of our business. Yes, there are 2 sides to every story and I hate to see any family fall apart. If you want to say something say it to the Lord in prayer for Hank and his family. It does not belong here unless you are perfect. JMHO.

None Ya Business from Chuck Hannaford  12/13/2001 2:18:00 PM
Hank is a friend and his character is exactly as portrayed...sterling!!! Without facts...and Hank is the ONLY one that has a right to share them, this is all gossip. There is never any good that comes out of gossip.

Hank is a family man. His children are a testimony to that.

Please!!!!!!!!!!!

Some of you guys sound like old ladies... from Dewayne (151.144.252.19)  12/13/2001 2:45:00 PM
Instead of gossiping try fishing. Some of you guys amaze me. Yesterday it was bash Wal-Mart day. Here we have a major corporation that is sponsoring several fishing circuits and doing a lot for the sport and you guys use a Bass Fishing web site to bash their company. Open your eyes, you are not doing the sport any favors.

Today we have one of the heros of the sport who "may" be having some family issues. Since he promotes taking your kids fishing and spending time with the family you have a right to know what his personal family life is like????? Sounds like we have a few people here who need to get a life.

"Let him cast the first stone" from bender (64.12.104.59)  12/13/2001 4:59:00 PM
If you have never lived it, don't do the judging. There are a heck of a lot of us that has gone through divorce. I don't really feel any less moral or less a man than I did before. Be carefull because it can come out of the dark and catch YOU, completely, with pie on your face.

How would you feel if your kids were taken from you, your home, you cars, your dog and then some idiot starts judging you like a 70 year old Baptist womens Sunday School Class.

I don't know if this is true, but if it is or if it ain't, this ain't the time or place to discuss this matter. There is no time or place.

Knowing is understanding. Experience is knowledge.

Bender

I Agree, its none of OUR BUISINESS!! PERIOD. from Paul Sonnier  12/13/2001 7:00:00 PM
Many people have gone through a Divorce, and as Bender said, sometimes it slaps you in the face, and hard. I have been through one, and does thta make me a bad person? I don't think so. It is something that is very hard, for all involved. Both the two parties, the children, and everyones lives around is involved, and affected, form relatives, to in-laws. Its a no win situation in many cases. My prayers go out to Hank and his wife, and the family that will be affected, if in fact this is true. If it is not, someone started a pretty cruel rumor..

Paul Sonnier

Your late from Bassman IA  12/13/2001 7:35:00 PM
It was posted earlier this year. Someone answered and said Hank was a neighbor and it was true. So what. I heard Hank Parker give a speech and told things about the way he grew up and I would never have believed it if someone other then himself had said it. Husbands and wifes sometimes grow apart. There is no doubt his feelings toward his kids are genuine. NOW-- if you get a divorce you think Hank Parker is goin talk about it????? MYOB

   Hank from Lynn (206.28.60.128)  12/13/2001 8:08:00 PM
Some asked me about 6 months ago if I had heard anything about it. I guess if you like to watch his show, and you hear people talking about you wonder. But I don't see any bashing going on here, someone just asked. Divorce is more common than non divorce today. It doesn't make you any worse a person. Sometimes things just don't work out. I remeber watching the striper show with his wife, they seemed to be a happy couple, at the time. Who knows why they divorced, that's nobody's business. But last time I checked divorce is public record, so somebody must figure it's somebody's business or it wouldn't be public record. The type of business he's in isn't very marriage friendly, and it can test a marriage to its fullest.

Hank's show is still one of my favorite shows to watch. But Hank seems to be more interested in racing now than fishing. I believe he has ownership in a race team, and his sons race. Some of Hanks old shows are my favorite all time fishing shows. The ones with Larry Bird, Bo Jackson, and Dale Earnhardt quickly come to mind. I missed the one where he remembered Dale Earnhardt, and it bout killed me. Nobody I knew taped it. Hopefully they will replay it soon and my Showstopper won't miss recording it.

Whether he did divorce or he didn't, it still won't change my liking to watch Hank.

You are not a two time loser. You are not a one time loser.

Don't ever post that again.

I feel for you that you stay together for the kids. I lived with someone years ago and it is hard to go home from work knowing it doesn't even matter.

Deep down if you are still together and you are doing it " for the kids" there is hope for you and her. Do something about it before it's too late. If it was over or going to be over you couldn't stay in the same house NOW.

If you want it to work COMMUNICATE and you can get back the feelings you had when you met each other.

Good luck bro,

Mark

   Lucky from Don (12.13.248.3)  12/14/2001 8:23:00 AM
Lucky you just want her money,Lynn why shouldn't he be interested racing after all they are his kids and he should stand with them,if they want to race then give them the moral support to do well,Hank has been good for our sport and he and his family have my blessings, how many old bones have some of you got in your closet you do not want to talk about, hell I will admit I have some and will have to live with them the rest of my life , but they are between god and my self and no one else, and as far as I am concerned, Hank ,his Wife and his kids are ok to me !Remember let he who is with out sin cast the first stone!

Hank! Let it lay from arfe (198.26.132.101)  12/14/2001 10:02:00 AM
Hank is a fisherman and thats enough for me. agree with don. i put my stones in my pocket years ago.

I like it when you guys go off fishin! from Jodie Fisherman (170.140.66.218)  12/14/2001 11:31:00 AM
Jodie gonna get the job done.

   Don from Lynn (206.28.61.182)  12/14/2001 7:45:00 PM
I'm not saying he shouldn't be more interested in racing. That's just my own observation. Interests change along the way, I'm not as enthusiastic about fishing like I used to be either. Actually now, I am more interested in NASCAR than fishing myself. I talk fishing more than I go now days. Hank will always be one of my favorites. :)
