Does anyone use the 2 power 6' 9" Falcon Topwater Special rod FOR topwaters? It's pretty light and whippy.

It usually get mentioned for small crankbaits but not for topwaters. Did Falcon screw up naming this one the "Topwater Special?"

a rod used specially for poppers if you ask me.

I had that model.... from PumaJeff #10844  2/2/2008 6:41:57 PM
and I agree, it's too light for tops, but it makes an AWSOME small crankbait rod.
I still have the spinning version, LFS-2-169L, and use it for small cranks, and like it alot. :^)

Well, I've got the casting model and It's just sitting reel-less for now. I'm wondering what would be a good little reel for it. Mybe pick up a used Calcutta 50 or something. Any ideas?

   I use a Citica 100DSV from BigGreenFish  2/3/2008 3:58:17 AM
I like the little Citica 100 on mine. I use it basically for my G-Splash. It is always tied on. Actually one of my favorite set-ups. Rarely lose a fish on it.

BigGreenFish, that sounds like a good match. I have one of those reels coming and I was going to put it on a LFC-5.167 I have for a utility set up. I might have to rethink this.

I got it figured out. (I'm in my anual post hunting season fishing tackle buying spree)

I'll put the Citica 100 on the LFC2-169 Topwater Rod.

I ordered one of the Team Daiwa Advantage HSTA reels for my LFC5-167.

Done

Thanks for all of your input!
