SUBJECT: # 29143: Curado 100B or 200BSF for Kistler rod

Submitted by Lc (24.243.202.214) from TEXAS on 4/26/03 6:32:00 PM

I'm think of getting either a Kistler Mark Tyler series 7' rod . Haven't quite decided whether a MH or M. For either action which would be a better reel choice between the Curado 100 and Curado 200BSF? I intend to use 10lb line most of the time to throw senkos, wacky worms, and 1/4 crankbaits. topwaters along with the occasional rattletrap. Then there is the occasional visit to the coast for redfish and specks using she-dog topwaters.

Is there a "perfect" all around choice?

thx,

lc

I would go with the 100b,because its easy to palm ,making it more confortable to put you finger on the rod blank, since kistler rods don't have fore grips.JMO

for the same price as a 200bsf you could go with a Scorpion 1000. It's the same size as the 100 but you get the external adjustment as well.

For the stuff you're going to be throwing get the 7ft Medium action Mark Tyler.. I think you'll really like it paired up with a Curado 100b or the Scorpion 1000.

The 7' medium action model is the one you want for the applications you described in your post. Might also want to consider a chronarch or a TD-X series reel as well. Whatever reel you select, you will have a terrific outfit!

I throw Senkos on my Kistler Senko rod and use the Curado 100B reels. The 100b reel is smaller, fits nicely in my palm and is spooled with 14lb test florocarbon.

    God Bless, Larry
