SUBJECT: # 30031: What is the difference between a trigger rod and casting rod?

Submitted by Cruising (64.109.176.14) from ILLINOIS on 8/1/03 5:58:00 PM

I was doing some research on Falcon rods (online) and found
Trigger and Casting rods that looked similar. Is there
a difference?

I currently have a Falcon Low Rider 6'6" mh casting rod and also have an Ugly Stik 2 piece 6' medium casting rod for trips
(it fits the trunk).

I was looking at adding a 7' rod to my collection.

Thanks.

Casting rods tend to have fairly short handles. Trigger rods have a longer handle.

Tim is right on. Additionally, the grip on some casting rods is a "pistol grip". The trigger rod grip has a typically round, longer handle, with the the "trigger" for your index finger to interlock with.

p.s. In the Falcon line, the Cara CC-4-17m or CC-5-17MH would be good, versatile rods in the 7' length to handle many different techniques.

We agree that the cc-4-17m and the cc-5-17mh both would be good choices to handle lots of situations.Give us a call.We have both in stock and other 7' rods as well!!!
