One of my co-workers and I decided to take our business partner out for a fishing trip. We fished Weldon yesterday and caught around 75 fish between the 3 of us. Plenty of 16-18" fish. I had the hot rod all morning and landed about 35 myself. Out of the 75 we caught, we kept 4. We could have filled our limit with fish between 18 and 18 1/4, but we feared shrinkage would land us a ticket at the ramp. As it worked out, the business partner caught the two largest fish of the day including one right at 22" with a $250 reward tag in it!
If you are going, be ready to drop 2X as much money as you would normally expect to pay for bass minnows! If you have a good tank and aerator, you may be better off to buy your minnows before you go to Weldon as they are about $7/dozen there! However, there is a guy on a boat that hangs out around the Big Rock that sells bait on the water.
