SUBJECT: # 2120: fly fishing

Submitted by jerry (152.163.100.8) from ALABAMA on 11/29/2006 9:04:00 PM

Not sure about this, and can't find it it in any bass or flw rules. Is it legal to use a fly rod if its under 8 feet. sorry if this sounds like a dumb question, but I know if someone in my club saw me doing it something would be said, right or wrong. thanks.

No I am sorry to say that BASS/ESPN is dead set against fly rods, regardless of length. Years ago they tried a 1 day event before the crank tackle guys go in, but it failed. I have spoken to ESPN and they reject it

FLW does allow fly rods, it has to adhere to the same limitations as the crank hardware
