SUBJECT: # 12636: Lucas Transmission Fix...Unbelievable!!

Submitted by SoonerFan (68.97.69.253) from OKLAHOMA on 5/18/2007 9:32:00 AM

The tranny in my Jeep GC (197K miles)started acting up the other night. Wouldn't shift down into low or if it did, it was a rough shift. Taking off from a stop it felt like it was starting out in 2nd...maybe 3rd. This has happened before, once under warranty and a couple more times that I paid for....$350 for a sensor and a solenoid and labor. I thought I'd give some Lucas Transmission Fix a try. I'm usually not much of a believer in a mechanic in a can but I've read and heard some pretty amazing things about this stuff. It's true...I borrowed a funnel from the Auto Zone and poured it in right there in the parking lot. It goes down like warm strawberry Jello. I didn't believe it when I could feel the difference before I got out of the Auto Zone parking lot. I ran around town the rest of the day and I'll be darned if that tranny isn't shifting and hooking up like a new one. Smooth as butter and I believe if I wanted I could lay rubber. I wonder for how long though??? A buddy of mine said it would probably work until I pulled my boat about 100 miles from home. That's what I'm afraid of.

Do any of you guys have any experience with this product? How long do you think the fix will stick? I know this tranny is on life support. After all it is a Chrysler tranny with nearly 200,000 miles on it. However, I would like to get as many miles out of it as I can before I have to rebuild it.

with 200,000 original miles on it and still working at all...should immediately be romoved from the vehicle, cleaned up, and enshrined in a special display in the Smithsonian. Just sayin....

Lucas products really work. I'm not much on snake oil myself, but their products do work. Not a permanent fix, but gets the job done. A lot of good mechanics, and Nascar, use Lucas products.

Sounds like there is somethin' goin' on and might have trouble later. Have the pan dropped and see what's goin' on.

Since using the Lucas oil last week the results are mixed. The tranny was working like new the first day on the Lucas...second day, as soon as I backed out of the driveway I knew the problem was back but after I drove for a few miles it smoothed out and worked like new again. This has been the scenario ever since. Intermittently it will not shift down into first which makes for a very leisurely take-off and then without warning it will start working fine.

It's been an expensive spring for me...I bought a new boat and paid all the taxes and fee's that go along with that, I paid the GD IRS $2200, $950 for brakes, tune-up, serpentine belt etc on the Jeep, and my daughter got married (I still don't know how much that cost me) Soooooo if the Lucas can buy me a month or two before I have to start writing checks to the tranny wrench, I'll take it. I won't be comfortable pulling my boat with the Jeep but that's okay because I have a tournament every two weeks through June and I fish tourneys out of my partners boat. So if all yall' will collectively cross your fingers for me, I would really appreciate it.

It was about 5 years before I found out what the REAL cost of my daughter's wedding was. I saw my wife write a check for $5400.00 before we left the reception----- silly me thought that was the total cost--------- yea, for the food and the booze.
