I read a lot here about gas mileage, but very little about gas additives. I have a 99 Suburban 4WD with a 350 that was getting a little over 10 mpg in town - thankfully I live only 5 minutes from work. I've added a K&N filter and started using Lucas Upper Cylinder Lubricant. After a year and a half, and cleaning the filter once, I have averaged about 12 mpg. The bottle costs as much as a couple gallons of gas as of last night - the gas price just jumped 24 cents today!- and it treats 100 gallons of gas. It pays for itself pretty quickly at these inflated gas pump prices.

Just wondering if anyone else here has had noticeable results with this additive or any other brand?

   I have tried the Lucas Fuel additive. I really dont keep up with my gas mileage close enough to tell if it made a differnce. I will say that i use the heavy duty oil stabilizer at every oil change. I replace a quart of oil with a quart of the Lucas. My truck was using about a quart of oil between oil changes and since i started using it has not used any. My truck is a 02 Chevy Silverado with a 4.8 Liter...it has 114000 miles on it. I will put Lucas in every truck i own from now on.
