SUBJECT: # 13076: Radiator cleaning question on a 95 Ford Truck

Submitted by rgray200 #13648 from OHIO on 5/15/2008 8:00:00 AM

I would like to clean the raditor in my truck. Its been running warmer than normal. I put a 165 thermostat and its running steady now on the quarter mark. It doesn't address the orignal problem however. My question is, is there something I can use other than having someone boil out the radiator. I haven't seen any sludge in the coolant that would say its full of rust or stopped up.

Your thoughts!!

Take it to a radistor shop and have it done right. Then put the correct thermostat back in it. It will pay off in the long run. Just my 2¢ worth.

Besides other makes of vehicles I have had Fords for 40 years. They need to be rodded plus a boil out. If you find something that works just as well-------- please post it cause I will use it. And put the right temp thermostat back in it-------------- it screws up the puter.
