40 days until Rally weekend, 3 weeks or so before registration closes, and only 19!!!!! folks are signed up! C'mon folks, don't let a little thing like high gas prices take you away from the fun times!

G0 to the other boards and promote the rally. Just do a little marketing- you might be surprised that the folks who frequent the boards do not know about the rallies at all. I've posted on the other BFHP boards about rally to help out a little bit. Ask Gerry to put up a banner at top of the pages about rally. He will probably be glad to help. or maybe have gator send out e mails to all last year and other years attendees inviting them to come to fork. Or maybe give free entry or gas money to the folks who come the farthest or free room or something. My post wasn't about trying to reach NEW folks to get them to come! It was all about the many missing long-time regulars that aren't signed up this year. Speaking of which - I don't see your and killer's names on the "who's in" page either!And just for your information, I HAVE posted on the other topics board about the Rally, though a few weeks back. I've also posted on a couple of other fishing related message boards as well. Plus I've extended personal invitations to several folks I know.
I'll probably post again in those locations when we get within about 10 days of registration close. My inclination is not to get overly "pushy" about that kind of thing!
Whatever - participation seems to be headed for a downer this year and I suspect the outrageous gasoline prices are putting a crimp in a lot of folk's leisure expenditures.

I imagine the big thing is like you said C, the gas prices are keeping a major portion of them from traveling. I also have been trying to get more ralliers by posting a link on my board as well. I know I have about 10 people who have attended this rally for years and I'm also trying to get those who have never came to give it a try.

Due to this being my last year as a full time employee I am having to spend a lot of time getting ready for the turnover to my replacement. However, if gas prices aren't over $4 a gallon in '09 I'll be there. Will be ordering the hat and T-shirt as usual.

No,our names aren't on list. Our grandson may be playing ball. So, if he is, we sure don't want to miss it, but will stop by and say howdy to everybody.
