Final Results ... 2004 Bass Cat Owners Invitational

Two Arkansas anglers provided a second day charge to capture the top spot in
the Bass Cat Owners Invitational today, keeping the Bass Cat jinx on first day
leaders alive.
Yesterdays leaders slid to 2nd place with 28.34. Charles Cooper and Preston
Havens of Lakeview, Arkansas leaped from third place to claim a new Cougar FTD
and gold and diamond rings with a sack of five bass weighing 31.40 pounds.
Challenging a field of 523 anglers from across the nation proved trying for
many of the anglers with water levels approximately 12’ above normal pool.
Second place and a new 2004 Pantera Classic was won by Bob and Janice Halteman of
Hillsboro, Illinois with a weight of 28.34.
Overall Big Bass winners for the two days weighed 6.03 and was brought to the
scales by Terry and Jeremy Stone of Mammoth Springs, Arkansas. They went home
with new Gold and Diamond rings on their fingers and cash in their pockets.
A total of 1049 fish were caught , treated and released by Bass Cat and
Arkansas Game and Fish personnel.
