Bass Cat Boat Owners from across the country converged on Mountain
Home, Arkansas this week to attend the Bass Cat Owners
Invitational.This two day tournament is open to all owners of Bass Cat
Boats from our 1971 models to the newest 2005 models..
The Pierce family and Bass Cat employees welcome their customers with
southern hospitality and some challenging fishing on Lake Norfork. 571
Owners accepted the Invitation and launched this morning in typical
Invitational a rainy morning ... thunderstorm watch, 10-15 mph winds
and temps in the 50’s ... perfect fishing weather to compete for new
2005 Bass Cat Puma rigged with a new Mercury225xs, plus other great
prizes including a 200 hp. Mercury Outboard and a vast assortment of
Strike King products ... as well as those from many other sponsors.
Our first day leaders, James Sell of Springfield, MO and partner Kenny
Cook weighed in 5 Bass weighing 16.23 pounds and were very tight lipped
on stage as the looked out at the two Bass Cat’s sparkling in the
distance ... first and second place prizes.Second place team of Jeff
Johnson of Ashflat, Ar and his partner Pat Goodwin followed closely
with16.00 ... keeping pressure on the Missouri team for Saturdays final
weigh-in.
Big Bass today was a healthy 5.59# lunker which was brought to the
scales by Derek Hall and Robert Reedy.
The afternoon clouds and weather forecasters are predicting a different
day for day two, a common kink to the Bass Cat jinx on first day
leaders alive.
