Bass Cat Boat Owners from across the country have converged on Mountain Home, Arkansas this week to attend the Bass Cat Owners Invitational.This two day tournament is open to all owners of Bass Cat Boats from our 1971 models to the newest 2006 models. The Pierce Family has provided family oriented fun, great prizes, and a challenging fishing tournament which has been a tradition since 1987.

The Pierce family and Bass Cat employees welcome their customers with southern hospitality and some challenging fishing on Lake Norfork. 605 Owners accepted the Invitation and launched this morning in typical Invitational an overcast morning ... threatening forecast. Sure can't dampen the hopes of taking home the grand prize, a 2006 Bass Cat Puma rigged with a new Mercury 225xs. Great prizes including a New Mercury Outboard and a vast assortment of Strike King products ... as well as those from many other sponsors are at stake during this two day tournament.

Our first day leaders, Michael and Michael Lucas Sr. of Springfield, MO weighed in 5 Bass weighing 15.94 pounds and were very tight lipped on stage as the looked out at the two Bass Cat’s sparkling in the distance ... first and second place prizes.Second place team of Randell James of Springdale, Ar and his partner Glenn Rhodes followed closely with 14.57 ... keeping pressure on the Missouri team for Saturdays final weigh-in.

Big Bass today was a healthy 5.42# lunker which was brought to the scales by the second place team of James and Rhodes.

The afternoon clouds and weather forecasters are predicting a different day for day two, a common kink to the Bass Cat jinx on first day leaders alive.

Top Ten Day One results are attached ... along with the Top Three Big Bass leaders from Day One.�
