Bass Cat Boat Owners from across the country have converged on Mountain Home, Arkansas this week to attend the Bass Cat Owners Invitational. This two day tournament is open to all owners of Bass Cat Boats from our earliest 1971 models to the newest 2007 models. The Pierce Family has provided family oriented fun, great prizes, and a challenging fishing tournament which has been a tradition for 21 years.

The Pierce family and Bass Cat employees welcome their customers with southern hospitality and some challenging fishing on beautiful Lake Norfork in Mountain Home, Arkansas. 648 Owners accepted the Invitation and launched this morning under overcast skies ... but, no rain in the forecast. Fishermen from Canada to Baton Rouge, and, California to New Jersey are competing for a 2007 Bass Cat Puma rigged with a new Mercury225xs. Great prizes including a New Mercury Outboard and a vast assortment of Strike King products ... as well as those from many other sponsors are at stake during this two day tournament.

Second place team of Jackie Ricketts of Vendor, AR and his partner Calvin Bolin followed closely with13.23 ... keeping pressure on the leaders for Saturdays final weigh-in.

Today's weigh-in found 953 fish weighing in at 1,770.85 pounds.

Big Bass today was a healthy 5.18# lunker which was brought to the scales by today's second place team of Jackie Ricketts of Vendor, AR and his partner Calvin Bolin.

The beautiful mid 80º weather is predicted for day two, a challenge in overcoming the Bass Cat Invitational jinx on first day leaders. First day leaders have yet to win the two day event.
