Dude, those are very respectable numbers on any body of water. From the 10 FWY, are you fishing on the north side or south side of the freeway??? CORN Coachella Canal, California From: Eric F (4.35.155.26), California If you follow Highway 111 south outside Indio, you'll be going down the East side of the Salton Sea. When you get to the Mecca/Salton Sea Recreational Area headquarters, instead of taking a right to get to the sea, take a left and follow the paved road till you hit the 'T'. Take a left on the dirt road. This drops you at the canal. You can go left for about 5 miles, or right about 40 miles. Aquaducts are spaced about every mile or so. Fishing the canal is like fishing a smallmouth stream. 3-8' deep, with weed beds, gravel, but very little structure. Fish an area, then move on. You can actually sight fish for bass from the road. It's a cool way to fish, but it gets hot. Real hot. I plan on doing a night fish next month. Should be perfect.
