Can you put me on some Smallies within 1hrs drive? I know Fst Roach is Lake trout water and am going to try that out but want lots of good SmMouth action. I will have a canoe and dont flyfish. Thanks for any help. Tim Smallies From: Christian (70.33.147.157), California Hi Tim, I saw you’re posting about small mouth, I live in Old Town and I think that’s about an hour away from the pond. For sure try the bass out here, I'm from California and do mostly large mouth but I've been fishing out here for about a month now and it's a blast. All I fish out of is a canoe and I do fine. I've never fished here in June, but I willing to bet that is prime time to fish. The warm water should really get them going. I fish Pushaw Lake and the Penobscot River. As far as tackle, I use 4 inch jerk baits usually lucky craft in a bronze gold color, I also use flukes in the 4 inch, I use the green backs (bass) color but I'm sure any color would work. Try top water poppers that’s always the best. Like I said I'm not really a local but that’s what I've been catching them on, hope this helps. Good luck, tight lines. |
