Fishing in Maine in December From: Alex (24.198.63.233), Maine
Is it true you can't fish in Maine after Nov 30th? I had asked on another board and was told Nov 30th is the last day to fish in Maine. You can fish as late as you want in NH, so what's the deal with Maine? Any idea about border lakes (great East & Balch Pond)? Thank you, Alex open waters From: Keith (66.181.115.61), Maine Yes it is true that fishing season does end after nov. 30th, but recently(within the last few years) the state has opened up a few rivers in maine to fishing all year. The Saco River is one of them, and I believe it is catch and release/artificial lures only. The one question I would have for the state is if crappie can be kept seemings how they are an "unlimited catch/non-game species during regular season." All boarder lakes are shut off due to the most strict law being enforced. saco river From: Al (64.135.141.140), Maine Attn Blue ranger: The part of the saco you fish do you put in at the campground on river road???? If so i have been fishing that strech for years my grandmother lives in that yellow house on the hill.That place is a sleeper!!!!
