do you mind telling the area you were fishing, I am going Fri. and Sat. morning and any info would help. Also what color seemed to work best.
Areas on Ouachita From: 31Airbrone (155.153.20.1), Virginia
David, we stayed in the Crystal Springs area most of the day. Think the main creek is called Hunter Creek. Also fished in Buckville (across the main lake from Hunter, on the north side).

Spinnerbait - white w/ small, silver willow leaf blades; crankbait - shad pattern, med runner; jig - green w/ green trailer; senko - greens.

Tight lines.

Distance from Little Rock? From: Coonhound (24.209.93.248), Ohio
Airborne, i'm going to PEC in Little Rock for two weeks. I'll be getting there this weekend. I'm dragging my boat along from Ohio to hopefully get into some AR bass while i'm there.

How far is that lake from Little Rock? Are there any other decent lakes in that area i should look into fishing?

Pec? From: Pac (70.232.88.24), Arkansas
Have no idea what that is. Places to fish within 1 hours driving distance of Little Rock. On the river you have Pine Bluff, Tar Camp, the Little Rock pool and the Maumelle state park pool.

Lakes would be Brewer, Overcup, Hamilton, Pickthorn and Maumelle.

Within 1.5 hours you have Degray, Ouachita, Dardanelle and Greers Ferry.

All of these places are easy to find on the state map. We have it all, slow moving waters, swamps, highland and low land lakes. You name it and it is here somewhere.

Little Rock area places to fish From: 31Airborne (155.153.20.1), Virginia
Coonhound, PacMan listed them for you save one - Catherine. Small lake in the Ouachita River chain. Doesn't get near the pressure that Hamilton and others get. Dardanelle is my personal favorite. Getting out on the AR River while you're in town is a must. Mind the channel markers, take it easy (idle) as you ingress/egress from the main channel.

Enjoy your stay.

Airborne, Thanks for the report, I will give it a try. If you ever need any info on texas waters maybe I can return the favor. David
I forgot all about Catherine From: pac (70.232.88.24), Arkansas
Airborne I need to go there sometime with ya when the schedule allows.

Thanks Leg

Headed to TX in May From: 31Airborne (155.153.20.1), Virginia
Thanks, David. Headed to Fork the week of 21 May. Looking forward to it. If you have any gouge on that lake I'm all ears.

Pac - Any time on Catherine, dude. Need to go before the water gets too warm and the recreational idiots come out from hibernation. Was on Hamilton over the weekend (camped there, fished Ouachita). Saw two people almost do a repeat of the accident that killed the girl a few weeks ago. Absolute insanity. Also watched a Seadoo run laps around a Tracker trying to come up on pad. The guy in the Tracker never had a chance - the Seadoo idiot was on and around him before he could see him. There's gotta be a law, there's gotta be enforcement before guys like you and me start outfitting our rigs w/ battering rams.

Will post on my trip to Greer's when I get back. Thanks again for the help and the sat pic.

Tight lines. B

Sorry, i should have elaborated. I'll be on the big National Guard Camp just north of Little Rock.

Looking at the map, it looks like Lake Conway borders the camp. Is there anything to that lake?

Thanks for the tips, guys. I'm sort of looking forward to coming down there!

Lake conway From: pac (70.232.88.24), Arkansas
I wouldn't go there with anything except an aluminum boat. It looks realy good but is shallow and full of things to run in to. It also had a big draw down this year and I don't know if they have filled it back up yet.

My email is cdpaquette@sbcglobal.net

Airborne can vouch for me that I'm for real. If you need some help shoot me an email. pac

The real deal From: 31Airborne (155.153.20.1), Virginia
Coonhound, Pac has been my tour guide on AR's waters for the past 2 years. He'll steer you in the right drection, tell you what you'll need to do to have a successful outing.

I agree that passing on Lake Conway is probably smart. Much better fishing options close in, as listed earlier, from which to choose. You'll have no trouble getting to any of these from Camp Robinson.

Also, Pac makes tackle specific for the lakes/rivers he mentioned. Recommend taking a look. You won't be disappointed.

What are the dates of your gig at Cp Robinson? While you're there, look up MSG Vince Sherrill in the G3/Force Mod office. He's another great source of fishing info - he's been another big help to me and like Pac, is a damn fine angler.

Thanks guys! From: Coonhound (207.123.118.89), Ohio
Thanks for all the intel guys. I really appreciate it!

Paq - I'll be shooting you an email for sure if we can't get into some fish. I assume the local tacle shops or Walmart will have maps showing locations of ramps and whatnot?

Airborne - I'll be at Robinson (i knew there had to be a name for that camp...lol) from 29 APR through 11 May. I'll have evenings off and next weekend off. If i happen to discover where the G3 is, i'll stop by and say hi to MSG Sherrill. Chances are i'll have a hard enough time finding the billets and school house. Heh...
