I just stumbled into this posting. I fished Saratoga for many years before moving to Central Florida. I miss fishing Saratoga but I do not regret moving here or the fishing in this area. The fishing season is just too short in upstate NY. I suspect you found the warmer water in fish creek or where a feeder stream enters the lake. You will be getting into some great fishing soon. Watch for the newest grass to start growing and try there as the lake warms. I fished here today in front of Saratoga Springs and caught over ten in just under two hours. Try to imagine where I am! Here in TEXAS last week we fished a nice little lake in South TEXAS and in two days weighted in about 35 pounds. The club winner was almost 55 pounds. On Sunday he had 3 bass over 7 pounds with the biggest at 9.98....... Like upstate NY but, you can't beat south TEXAS for great all year around bass fishing...............
